I think we’re done here…

Posted in FYI with tags , , on October 16, 2009 by ♥JellyBean♥

If you haven’t noticed my presence on Plurk for the past couple days, it’s probably because I moved. Yup. I hadn’t put in my change of address to the internet post office, but it’s true. I’ve left plurk to go off in search of fortune & fame. Or at least something like that.

HawksRock & I have been having some good talks the last couple of days about reassessing where we put our time and energy. We literally have soooo much going on currently in our Real Fleshy Lives – like wedding planning, social engagements, tweetups, meetups & family fun stuffs. I don’t think we are gonna be on plurk or SL for a while… but never say never. Could be a break, a vaca, a hiatus, a sabbatical, could be forever, or whatev. Ya’ll know me though, I’m a social media junkie *taps the needle in her arm* and it would be a harsh detox for me to leave plurk completely without no other social outlet. Most of you know that we are on Twitter (if the right sidebar didn’t give it away first) and we’ve decided to mingle over there for awhile, we’ve started unpacking & hung a few pictures on the walls already. It’s sort of comfy there.

If you still want to catch up with me, feel free to get your ass on Twitter and find me. However a word of caution, I do talk a lot about real-life over there, so if this makes you queasy, dizzy, uncomfy, you develop a rash, or allergies, such as sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose… please consult your virtual doctor immediately. Also if you have linked your plurk to your twitter, if you never check your twitter, I won’t/can’t respond to you.

Kissie Pops! Thanks!

Hey Dumbass!

Apparently not everyone gets this, so let me point out that this *here* is a blog post, on a blog (Free State of Mind).

On the right navigation bar is not a blog, it’s just a directory of feeds and keywords.

Over there you’ll see:

JellyBean’s Twats

That happens to be my Twitter account (that also accepts my plurks) that is being fed to the side bar by magical elves every time I tweet (post on Twitter). Are you following?

It’s not a BLOG, it’s a “tweet” or as I like to call it a “twat”.

So please if you are going to stalk me online and then proceed to bitch about what you see when you stalk me, refer to what it is in the proper terms so I can make sense out of your ramblings.

Thank you!

Zdra-stvu-eetee…

Jinkies! I rarely come here anymore. In fact, I rarely blog anymore – at all. So let me give you a little update on stuffs. First of all the newest news is that I joined a gym yesterday… Go me! Day two & I’ve used my membership twice… so far, so good. I really need a motivator because if you can’t be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with… I’m really freaking lazy! Period! So I made my 12 year old son join with me. Hah!

We also quietly launched our new RL website/blog – Our Lawrence. Basically Hawks had the idea that we should document why Lawrence is so cool, well ok. I’m on that! *wink*

Okay as for my virtual slife… Hawks is not feeling the SL groove at the moment and I kinda am. We’re at like opposite ends of the spectrum – I want to make machinima, DJ, dance & shop and well… he wants to play WoW! *sigh* Don’t get me wrong, I loves me some WoW but gosh I’m so tired of working on quest after quest to slowly hit lvl 80. We’re currently lvl 78 DKs somewhere in an area that looks just like that area we were in a month ago but isn’t the same area where we are killing shit that sorta resembles those other things but are totally named different things. Ya know how it is.

Now on to my other other other virtualness… Plurk! Ya it’s still there. In fact it’s right here. Hawks isn’t feeling that either much. But yah he’s still there too, in fact he’s right here. We also have Brutes, yup Brutes. You know how I hate being a sheep, ya I know don’t baaaaaaaaaaa-ther. I only think you’re a sheep if you’re like the 8th+ person to join something. Hahahaha! Well as any good plurky flock, we all got Brutes, then we all got Brute alts cause you know we really honestly just want world domination & clones of our true selves. Yup! Omg! Stop looking at me like that, you were thinking it too, I just had the guts to say it outloud! Pfft!

Well that’s it for now. The best place to actually keep up with me would be plurk, so just watch my timeline or something cause I update often.

Vote Earth!

Posted in FYI with tags , , on March 24, 2009 by ♥JellyBean♥

Trin already posted this and this is me copy/pasting for the most part, but I think this is a great idea & for what better cause than the Earth your children, and their children, and so on & so on will inherit? Yah! DO IT!

THIS YEAR, EARTH HOUR HAS BEEN TRANSFORMED INTO THE WORLD’S FIRST GLOBAL ELECTION, between Earth and global warming. For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

EARTH HOUR BEGAN IN SYDNEY IN 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

IN 2009, EARTH HOUR IS BEING TAKEN TO THE NXT LEVEL, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

Turn Out. Take Action.

HawksRock’s Personality Type

Posted in FYI with tags , , on January 23, 2009 by hawksrock

“ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ. The secretary, clerk, or business(wo)man by whom others set their clocks is likely to be an ISTJ.”
– ISTJ Profile (TypeLogic)

“ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are “good citizens” who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun – especially at family or work-related gatherings.”
– Portrait of an ISTJ (The Personality Page)

“…characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, “super dependable” would best describe them.”
– The Portrait of the Inspector Guardian (Keirsey)

“…private, does not appreciate strangeness, not adventurous, not spontaneous, follows the rules…”
– Jung Type Descriptions (ISTJ) (similarminds.com)

“At work, ISTJs get things done on a timely basis. They honor deadlines, and they believe in thoroughness. A half-finished job is not a job well done. They established procedures and schedules, and are uncomfortable with those who do not do the same. ISTJs put duty before pleasure. As long as they can fulfill their responsibilities, they feel useful and thereby satisfied. Their work does not have to be fun, but it has to count toward something productive. ISTJs believe that vacations are something that one takes only when work has been accomplished; thus, at times they do not take vacations even when they could and should.”

16 Things about Hawks

Posted in challenge/meme, FYI, Introduction(s), Real Life with tags , , on January 14, 2009 by hawksrock

1)  I have travelled to 27 countries to date:  USA, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Panama, El Salvador, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Rep, Hungary.  (If Vatican City counts then 28 )

2)  I am the oldest of 7 siblings, and I am still very close to all of them.   Ironically, I may be closest to the youngest who is 18 years younger.

3)  I am extremely competitive at anything and everything that can be measured.

4)  I have learned the hard way that money does not buy you happiness.

5)  I am drawn to people who have a passion for living and doing no matter how odd their hobby or interests.

6)  I started working at the age of 12 mowing lawns, and have been working ever since.

7) My father put me to work in a beef-packing plant at the age of 18 to “learn the value of my education.”

8)  I wrote a senior thesis on the African-American influx into Kansas following the Civil War – a group that was known as the Exodusters.

9)  I was a history major in college even though I can never remember names or dates, but I really love good stories and the best stories are often real.

10)  I have a habit of getting really excited about something for a while, but once I figure it out I get bored and never do it again.

11)  I would say the adjectives most often attributed to me by others are probably things like stubborn and/or cocky.

12)  I am typically optimistic, and I always try to put a positive spin on things, but at times it is impossible, and those times are very depressing.

13)  I try to laugh and joke and goof around as much as possible, because humor is one of my favorite things.

14)  My toes are double jointed (so I can pick things up quite easily with them) and I had 6 wisdom teeth instead of four, so by many standards I am an evolutionary regression.

15)  My parents moved a lot when I was growing up as my dad was promoted through different positions.   At one point in my life, I was in 6 different schools in 5 years.

16)  I have a downright fetish for ice-cream.   Jell doesn’t seem to understand the compulsive need to go get a chocolate milkshake even though it is below freezing outside.
